When we purchased this product last summer, we were impressed by the sturdiness and sun protection of this umbrella. Unfortunately, the brilliant red color faded soon after we set it up in our patio garden. Now, the color is more of a pink / salmon colored fabric that clashes with our orange and red garden theme. The only part of the umbrella that's red is the underside. So if you live in Arizona or a similar environment where the sun shines bright most of the day, this is not the best choice if color resistance matters to you. The material color fades quickly. While sitting under the umbrella today I realized that it hasn’t faded in 3 years of use. I have other umbrellas costing more that have faded in that timeframe so well done! This is our second Abba patio umbrella, tried several others and they were not the quality that Abba brings.I loved the Umbrella when I first got it almost a year ago. Last week, I noticed it was stuck on tilt. I finally had time today to take it down and try to get the tilt button to pop back out. I had rust draining out of that area, so I used a little Olive oil to see if I could loosen it a bit. I went to try and pop it back into place and something metal fell. Then and there I knew there was no saving this umbrella that didn't quite make it a year. I won't buy from Abba again. Sorry. but not even a year?I purchased three of them at the same time two were the same height but the third was shorter. That and one had a dime sized rust stain.I’m actually quite pleased with my purchase of this umbrella! It’s not quite as large as I would have liked but it’s great quality! It tilts and the ends of the umbrella where the arms ends keep umbrella straight is reinforced with a material reinforced material with a metal washer and screws holding the umbrella to its frame. This is a great deal and umbrella is really and heavy duty definitely recommend this if you’re in the market! Great service and delivery time. Thanks!Really like the sturdiness of the umbrella and the color; we purchased the turquoise. There are rivets holding the material to each rib, not the normal pockets. Nice big size which we purchased for our high top table. Be aware that if you have a high top table the pole is not long enough. Luckily we hadn't trashed our previous umbrella and my husband was able to extend the pole using a section from the old umbrella.I didn’t purchase a base but the umbrella itself is nice and sturdy. No complaintsWe purchased this umbrella for deck. When we opened the box we were quite impressed with the quality of the rod and crank system, however when we opened the umbrella (beige) there wereblack spots in the material. The material is quite disappointing. It is very thin as mentioned in other reviews. Edges are nicely finished with decorative screws but since I admit to being OCD I had to return it. I did reach out to the company for an exchange but didn’t receive a response. New one arrived and we are down to just one spot. I haven’t decided if I’m keeping this one. What a shock! On a windless day I gently tipped my 2 month old new Amazon umbrella down to shield the sun from my eyes using the tilting feature and the umbrella broke in half! From the break it appears to be simply poor quality base metal that would break that easily. And Amazon gave me one month of return protection. So it’s our contribution to the local land fill. Disappointing.I purchased this umbrella (red) for our patio this summer and it has faded dramatically already. This happened in less than 6 months. They should be better protecting it with a UV protectant.Overall we love the shade it provides. That said, I was disappointed to see that the umbrella material stops short of the supports and is held in place with screws. I'm not sure if this was a design 'improvement' or a way to cut corners (literally) to save a few bucks in it's production. We bought this umbrella for it's size (11 ft diameter) and I would have preferred to spend a little more for the version of this umbrella that existed a few years back where the umbrella supports used to slide into sleeves in the umbrella fabric like most patio umbrellas do. Between the seemingly cheap build quality and how quickly the colour faded I wouldn't recommend this umbrella to new buyers unless the size is the only thing that counts the most.I bought this umbrella to replace one that broke up because of high winds. This umbrella is better built to withstand such pressure. Unlike the old one, the two poles are screwed together instead of one sliding into the other, and the bottom pole is a tight fit in the base (bought separately) so that the pole does not wiggle. As seen from the first picture, the umbrella has good coverage for my small patio table. The handle for opening the umbrella, seen in the second picture, is of good construction, and as seen in the third picture, the upper pole tilts to provide extra shade against the sun and it is a tight lock. I also like the price, very reasonable.FANFRIGGINTASTIC!!!!! Love this umbrella!! Assembly for me was screwing the pole together...that's it!! Love the crank! Love the tilt! Lovely strong material! My old umbrella had a wooden frame. I'm really happy with the powder coat metal. We really needed an umbrella that tilts cause of the sun we get out back on our deck. It gets all the afternoon sun. Very hot. This umbrella is a game changer!! The color is dead on. Very vibrant! We've got zero complaints with this purchase. Highly recommend for Canadian decks!!
